ZANU PF rewrites Zimbabwe's "careless draft" constitution

Constitution for all Zimbabweans

Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe's party said on Thursday it was pushing for a raft of changes to a draft constitution, meant to prove the way to new elections to replace a rocking power sharing regime. "Of the six chapters we have reviewed, we have made a lot of changes because we have discovered that the drafters have ignored what we instructed them to do and 70% of their content was of their own invention" Paul Mangwana, Mugabe's point man on the Constitution said. Mangwana said the party also wanted a clause to protect Mugabe's land reforms, which resettled black people on thousands of white owned farms a decade ago. From a political point of view, one can then conclude that ZANU PF is using propaganda so as to once again win the upcoming elections. Why did the constitution drafters move around, disturbing people relaxing in their homes with the so called "constitution making for ALL Zimbabweans"? This is not constitution for everyone, it's just for the elite who tried to blinded the populace by ironically making them participate in the constitution making process. Its a shame for our dear grandmothers and grandfathers who wasted their scarce energy and time attending COPAC meetings. At the end of the day that is what they have reaped, their ideas and contributions mercilessly through into the bin by the ruling regime.

EXHUMATIONS................Again?

It is clear that this is a year of exhumations, especially in Zimbabwe. Firstly it was Mujuru now it is Rhodes.For Mujuru it is understandable because the family wanted to verify if the buried body was really Mujuru's but for Rhodes, what is the purpose? Rhodes' grave is a tourist resort which helps generate income to the country, but for ZANLA war vets, the grave or remains are the ones causing poor rains in the region. Is this geographically or culturally proven or it is just a way of "eradicating" the whites, both alive and dead? THe indegenisation programme did its job to the peak, why the exhuming long dead bodies. The ZANLA is also stating that Rhodes' remains belittled Zimbabwe's independence and disturbed their rituals which they usually carry out at Milindidzimu Hills. As the ritual, the ZANLA war vets are believed to bath naked at Hove River while an old woman is ululating and clapping. Marshal Mpofu, the spokesperson of ZIPRA Veteran Trust described the move as disgusting. "We are saddened by this unusual act by ZANLA war vets", he said. So the bottom line is, who hates the whites most here in our multi-race country...?

Mugabe denies signing the constitution draft

Our Honourable President Robert Grabiel Mugabe has refused to sign the draft of the contitution. This is because the draft states that  any person who has been in thee presidential throne for more than ten years must not be an election candidate. It is clear that the 88  year old President is still eager andd "energetic" in the presidential game. The ZanuPF officials are also in his shoes as they are threatening to block any new constitution that seeeks to bar him from contesting the next presidential elections. So the question at hand is, why were the citizens and the populace involved in the constitution making process if there is one person who will make the final decision on what is supposed to be there in the constitution?

I am still continuing with the issue at hand, the Mujuru exhumations. It seems the state is denying the approval of the exhumation of the late son of the soil,s remains. I do not know if l will be wrong: there is a huge reason behind all this. Why should not the government grant them their right?  it is clear that the Cubian who did  the postmortem prior did not provide valid proof on what really killed the comrade. he  did not give proof whether the burnt body was really of Mujuru. The government have to seriously consider the misery in which the family is going through but just mercifully granting them the permission.

So this is democracy?

The co-Minister of Organ for National Healing, Reconciliation and Intergration, Mr Moses Mzila, is being charged with making false statements deemed prejudicial to the state at a meeting organised by Roman Catholic priest Father Marko Mabutho Mnkandla in memory of Gukurahundi victims at Silwane Primary School in Lupane. Mzila is alleged to have said " Silwane villagers should turn against President Mugabe because most of them lost relatives during the Gukurahundi era and Mugabe was silent with the police, Central Intelligence Organisation, army being used by him and his party to further their political mileage."Can we call this democracy or that is what is supposed to be done to those who disseminate information which cause "alarm"and "despondency" to the state?

Mujuru exhumations

I heard this in the morning bullet. The Mujuru family has sent a proposal to the Homes Affairs Minister for the confirmation on the exhumation of the late Mujuru's remains. They want a re-postmortem so as to verify if the late politician was really burnt to ashes. Can be the re-postmortem shade light on really what killed him as he was found with a fructured skull which the first postmortem reveled was caused by too much heat?
